Mortality

Assalamualaikum.

It's been very quiet lately here. Or should I say since last year?
I have been neglecting this blog due to the fact that I am so very busy and also because... I had a writer's block? Could these reasons be accepted?

Anyway.
I went to an elderly relative's funeral this morning. He was my great uncle and his age was 98 years old. He passed away peacefully last night after Maghrib. It was really sad. We had a family day during Chinese New Year long break, and that was when all of us gathered together as a big family.

Death reminds us of our own mortality. Life could passed in a blink of an eye. Made me missed my parents more, in fact.

What have I done to help my parents there in the Barzakh? I hope I haven't done anything that could cause them more harm, there. They had done the best for me, and now it's up to me to carry on with life.

Coping with grief is never easy. Losing your loved ones is much harder. May my relatives be strong in this time of sadness.

I pray that 'Pok' (that was my name for him) is happy there. They say Barzakh is the time for rest for the souls. May we all meet in Heaven, insya Allah.

May Allah bless him, my parents and also the rest of Muslims.

Wassalam.
